||The Yellow Thunder Officials Association (YTOA) was formed in 1976 by a group of officials who got together and decided that they could improve as officials by regularly meeting with other officials. Now, more than 30 years later, the association is growing and is stronger than ever. Our membership includes officials from a wide area in south-central Wisconsin.
We hold from two to four meetings each year for the following five sports: football, volleyball, basketball, baseball, and softball. As opposed to some associations that focus on only one or two sports, we cater to the official who works multiple sports as well as those who may work only one sport. If there are enough area officials who work sports other than the five we currently serve, we are open to adding those sports as well. We also hold an annual business meeting every summer, and we have an annual dinner in the spring.
We encourage new officials by offering one on one sessions to individuals who are just starting out in a specific sport. We also waive the membership fees to brand new officials.
YTOA promotes higher education by annually awarding two scholarships (one boy and one girl) to graduating seniors in the area.
The WIAA strongly encourages officials to be members of a local association. We invite you to be a member of YTOA.
